Restore old Recordings
If by chance the admins read this, I know this is a cry for a miracle, but for the longest time I have wanted to find a way to transfer my old Tribes 2 Recordings using Fraps or a like program so I can view them outside the game, unfortunately at some patch old recordings were not able to be played anymore, they show up in the list grayed and and you just get an error saying it can't be played.
I have an original tribes disk that I can install, but the problem I have is you cannot view recordings in solo mode, and it won't log in on the MP since it keeps looking for the patch server. I tried just installing the multiplayer patch but I get an error saying it's not a valid win32 application
I was wondering if it would be at all possible for any of the TribesNext programmers to be able to either fix Tribes to play the older videos, or know how I can fix my videos to play on the newer versions. Again I know this is asking a lot, but I have to at least try.

I don't understand why you can't watch demos in solo mode?

If I could find away around the login like tribes next did, I would be fine.
I don't know about the login.
I seriously cannot thank you enough.
Glad I could help (glad I still had those patches around too).
Here is my first test Movie, I've got another 2 hours and 45 minutes of recording left to work with, so expect much more to follow.
I'm going to revive this posting, 16 years later. Going through my archives, I have several championship recordings over the years for Tribes 2 Renegades and attempted to use FRAP to save them to be posted on Youtube - no luck playing any of my recordings. It would be kind of neat to see these again, we won many championships and lost some too but the fact of the matter is all of us had fun regardless.
Demos are essentially network packet and input logs, so it's normally only possible to play them back on a version of the game with a compatible parser for the protocol and structure of the recording. It'd in principle be possible to build a system to convert the format to the version used in the 25034 update, but I'm not aware of anyone having made the effort. A community member named loop was collecting demos on https://tribesforever.com/ and streaming them, though.
They've in the past just been played back in the version of the game they were recorded in, as the others in this thread were doing.
I need to look through these forums more after the time I left... Hadn't come across that demo site until now. This will be the rest of my evening and then some...lol
Thanks!
