Failed to invoke embedded ruby interpreter?

edited January 2009 in Support
I was on a server a few minutes ago and all of a sudden my keyboard stopped working. I could look around, fire and use jetpack but nothing on the keyboard side of things. so i unplugged it and put it back in. still nothing. My keyboard would work with other programs once id alt tabbed. but then when i went to relaunch tribes i get the error: Failed to invoke embedded Ruby interpreter? Any ideas guys?

*edit: Just did a reinstall and its still happening =/

    • Did you install using the tribes2_gsi.exe?
    • Are you running the latest version of the patch?
    • Were there any issues during patch installation (i.e. did you have to click "ignore" or "retry")?
    • Are there any rubyintersect.dll processes listed in the Task Manager?
    • Are the following files in your GameData folder:
      • rubyintersect.dll
      • msvcrt-ruby18.dll
      • t2dll.dll
    • System specs?
  • Only reason this error should occur is if the rubyintersect.dll couldn't be initiated as a process. This could happen if that file is missing, or if the msvcrt-ruby18.dll is missing.
  • I performed a system restore and its all good now. if the issue happens again I'll try checking out the tips you guys gave me, thanks =]
