It may be a joke right now but modern warfare is likely to include similar technical attacks. The dod forbade use of usb drives after virii was found in new usb drives, it was found after the dod systems had been infected. I bought an hp 4g usb drive recently and i can't change the format to ntfs, for some reason it is…

Think it's been said before; install t2 and get it running and your prefs set before you install the patch.

I'd like to see ilys, kater and matits ... err mantis join this forum. Miss gameshrine a lot, shame it went away.

It also shows how our society is kinda right on the edge of collapse if folks like this and business practices like these are commonlace. I count it either luck or blessing the code was seen before it activated. What if some malignant government, say communist China who makes most all our electronics, had built code into…

In ultra it's easy to boost past a shrike, they're only left in the mod for fun.

package RemoveTanks { function StationVehiclePad::onAdd(%this, %obj) { Parent::onAdd(%this, %obj); %obj.assaultVehicle = "Removed"; if(%obj.ready) return %obj.ready = true; %obj.setRechargeRate(%obj.getDatablock().rechargeRate); if($CurrentMissionType $= %obj.missionTypesList || %obj.missionTypesList $="")…

If it is indeed caused by next, I am sure thyth is going to fix it. If it is system dependant, meaning certain system configs; parts, drivers, whatnot, it may be a bit too encompassing to try and cover every possible combination of hardware with a patch. Has anyone who suffers from this ue stuff tried running older drivers…

omg u haka!1

Yer, ims and such that cause popups are kinda deadly to t2.

well done

The range is determined by serverside code. Nothing I can do about that, or want to. There are serverside scripts that limit the laser range to the fog range, so there's a solution to the _evil_ script. What I would really like to see is maps with visual distance/fog that is rational in 2009; 800 meters or more. Oh but…
-
Why do we need .net for this?
-
No, a million mile away headhsot is quite common with a certain script that is not hm2 or an aa, and is nothing more than an iff indicator. Right out of the fog from across the map. But come on, it's not an aa, and half the time when one using the script fires into the fog, he's hitting a hill or some other obstacle in the…

On the morphing thing, you have to keep in mind that a common system a propective tribes gamer had back in 98 was a p133 and maybe a tseng labs isa vid card, if he or she was lucky. So morphing was a must or the hardware stumbles. You can set each map to not morph at all, or only to your specs. You can also run a script…

I guess it's more or less common thoughts in some coder/admin/it circles.

Well said, fatwa. Perhaps the op meant tribes vengeance rather than tribes2? TV is riddled with hax that are very effective. T2 is relatively safe as far as the vast majority of players goes. There are some who aa and/or hm2 and use exploits, but they're the minority.

I think that if you don't have shaders in your hardware you don't get the bump mapping you speak of, so.

disable or remove all scripts get t2 running by itself first add scripts one by one untill you find any that cause ues

An experienced sniper has on days and off days, and is much more at the mercy of the condition of the network between his machine and the server he plays in than any other detrimental effect. If you would just move every second or so you would be less of a target. Then again, some snipers are very good at making quick…

err ... wha?/professor farnsworth

I dunno. Arena and other limited mods are so similar to q3, cs, and other first person games as to be irrelevant. Just jump into a ctf server and play.

Not that I know of.

T2 is based on the game engine that debuted in T1 with updates to include pixel shading to the dx8 extent, T1 being a DX6 game, more or less. T2 was actualy to be the _update_ for T1, politics and marketing departments aside. So physics are similar, as is the mod/scriptability. Think of T2 as a graphics and slight…

T2 can ue for many reasons, and it will ue wether tribesnext is installed or not, but my ues seem to almost always involve tanks. Also, don't minimise or alt tab out of the game, as I have found this to trigger ues many times.

What mod were you playing?
-
The results you see from increasing settings rather than reducing them is likely due to caching done by the game. If settings aren't set to max, the game withholds data, caching data, untill called for by movement in the game. So there's constant trafic as the game loads and unloads textures and terrians to maintain that…
