There is no problem running tricon with next. Set your tricon prefs to allow your next guid as admin.

Perhaps running the server in a dmz is the answer?
-
Right click my network places, properties, double click local area connection, click support tab, there's your current actual ip for the system you're on. This is with xp by the way.

I find a far better game in a server that has 32 players or less than more than 32. There is a point in player count where gamestate isn't as smooth anymore.

Hi Go here, dl the ai tutorial if you don't have it; www.tribaloutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6443 It has lots of info on building maps with ai.

If you're trying to connect to the server via its wan address, ie;98.248.1.5 rather than 192.168.1.3, you may need to connect through the lan ip rather than the wan. Also, if you're running a router make sure you have holes punched in it to allow traffic to the server. Get the lan ip of the server and then in game hit…

I think this has more to do with your server being in online mode.
-
Next doesn't require an iq test to get authorised. If you find idiots in the server you joined, join another, or better yet, host one that you can run to your liking.

this is epic
-
I wonder if it's caused by a local port issue pertaining to ispawn?
-
Didn't sierra patch out d3d support after a certain update?
-
Hi Have you tried adjusting the video card setting in the ati driver control panel to enable or disable multithread support?
-
I have had no issue simply using the windows key, but I run server2003 on my game system.
-
Another thing is to join a server, check for the players with the highest scores, and obs them for a bit. Or if the high scorers aren't playing the position you prefer, obs anyone playing your particular favorite role, flag defense, gen defense, shrike whoring, etc. You will learn a lot by example. But good bots are still…

Especialy update news on any antihak measures released.

You can delete the card profiles, they're pointless unless you run a specificaly defined card. Another thing is to make sure all the t2 folders have the read only property unchecked. Right click the folder, properties, uncheck read only if checked. Conversly, one might edit their video prefs as found in clientprefs.cs with…

Start a server with bots in the game, and play against the bots for a while. You can adjust them to be stupid or smarter, so you can progress. Read the manual to see just how to start a server.

Classic is likely the closest approximation to Tribes1 physics so far, to include vehicle dynamics. I played base++ a bit today, and noticed no real diff between base and ++. What should I be looking for?
-
Almost sounds like your playing under a limited user account. Settings changes may not hold if done under a limited user account, you may need an unlimited account to make them permanent. Oh yeah, delete all the dso files before you make changes.
-
And within support you might have a category for servers, and one for clients.
-
By the way, this is a fix for the "calculate impact" console spam.
-
Dt was hakd before next came along, why use it now? If someone's obviously cheating, ban the guid. Might be good to get a demo first.

What I posted above wasn't something I have observed or heard of, just something that is possible. Same reason why I didn't want private masters in Tribes1, the master server op can decide to not list certain servers if he or she so chooses, or certain types of servers. It's the idea, not the practice.

It's true that a good shriker can dominate a game. I can't count how many times I have seen someone grab our flag, and our shrike follows him till he's dead and our flag is recovered. Conversely, I can think of many times I had their flag and a shrike nails me just as I'm about to my flag, he started after me from way off…

I have found a setting in some video card driver options to often be the cause of stutter in games. That option is called "threaded optimisation" in nvidia cards, dunno what they call it for ati, but ati has the same option nonetheless. Play with this disabled and see if it helps you, it makes for much better gameplay in…

As to game winning strategies, let Gen Shwartzkopf tell it succinctly: "Amateurs think strategy, professionals think logistics." This, in simple terms relative to the game, means forget killing the enemy untill you have their gens down. Then keep them down to make your enemy easier to kill and his flag to steal. mwuhaha

The packet rate determines when a snapshot of gamestate is sent to each player, more means smoother gameplay, up to a point. Think the standard unedited networking rate is 16, with a packet size of 240. Going to 20x256 adds just a little more creamy goodness. I doubt if anyone would notice much diff in base to shifter…

Look for one called the community patch.

Should this be applied to all servers or just those with ai?
