You could download the mod and host one yourself, you know.

Somebody set up us the bomb, I think.

This should be in the Support forum. And better articulated.

For texture replacements, including reticles, I found the *.vl2 files didn't really cooperate all the time either. Extracting them to their path structure directly in ~/GameData/base fixed all the texture issues for me.

Did you perhaps try bringing down the mouse sensitivity? In game as well as at the system Control Panel?

Okay that TSW was the most awesome thing ever. USS Kamikaze is my new favorite toy.

What OS? I tend to UE only when something steals focus from Tribes, whether that's Alt-Tab or an IM popping up and demanding attention.

I'm skeptical about this figure. I suppose that the rifle might not do any damage after a certain distance threshhold, but I bet it would still hit. My thought is that if you (and a buddy or a stationary bot) stood more than 1000m apart, and you fired the laser rifle (targeting by beacon or IFF or otherwise), I'd bet you…

Bah! irssi+screen all the way! I can't think of any IRC client that requires .NET 3.5

I don't think you can use anything but Tribes 2 to play Tribes 2 recordings. I haven't popped one open myself, but I'm guessing the file only saves the state of the game at certain (though frequent) slices, so without the original engine, it can't play. I think I had a similar problem in Tribes 1 where my recorded demos…

T1 never did that to me... Big differences I note between T1 and T2 are mostly nitpicky game enhancements, like moving invo to a keypress and the actual loading a more or less instantaneous thing, ground vehicles and the bomber, missile launcher locks on (and won't dumbfire unless underwater), they brought over and changed…

I believe PJ's pack has a feature that records a demo into numerous screenshots that would manually be strung together into a video. I haven't tried this myself yet, and I imagine for a long game you're going to end up with a lot of screenshots.

More importantly why would he have put the non-crossed-out version in a public photobucket

Projectiles inherit some/all of your momentum, so if you're jetting up, a projectile will have some upward momentum (compensated for by aiming down). Likewise, if you're strafing, that's sideways momentum, which again is compensated for by aiming slightly the other way. Also, Rabbit is a pretty good way to pick up some…

*snorts, coughs* Dammit you made me snort Dew.... I must see this in game now...
-
It may be unofficially "when it's done", but I think it's safe to assume TribesNext will be done before Duke Nukem Forever, am I right?

That clip near the beginning on Dangerous Crossing where heavy hands off flag to light, that was awesome.

My first guess would be no. Most uninstallers I've dealt with will remove everything they installed, including the directory it installed it in. But, if there are files in any directory there that it didn't put in, it'll leave the directory, and those files, there.

I sort of miss the dumbfire rocket launcher from T1. Made heavies a little more maneuverable.

Duplicate thread, try searching the forum before starting a new thread. Also HappyMod2 for the lose. http://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php?topic=81.0

They have trees growing from their heads and will attempt to melee you with a missile launcher. But on the serious side, I've noticed they're much more competent than the bots Tribes comes with by default, even if they're restricted to some maps.

Problem Exists Between Keyboard and Chair.

I could be interested in modding or refereeing things, just depends on what I'm responsible for. You people have me all interested in this stuff now

Don't forget Myst, Doom, SimCity (actually all simulation games), Morrowind and Oblivion, Portal, should I keep going? Competition is not the end all and be all of games. Some of us like to challenge ourselves, too.
