  • I tried this one sniper script that reversed the trigger, so it would fire when you lifted the button instead of pressed. Turns out that my reflex reaction when realizing "oh there's my shot" would move the mouse off my shot when I lifted the finger, so dropped that one. I don't use any other scripts for sniping, just…
  • I've used a Razer Diamondback 3G for almost a year now. Four extra buttons (best two are on thumb, the other two are a little awkward). It's apparently designed to be controlled more with your fingertips than the whole hand, which is pretty good for twitch aiming. For sniping, the sensitivity can be adjusted on the fly,…
  • Facetiousness aside, teratos does sort of have a point. You can't really stop a rape train; you have to wait for the small pause when most of them have died and have to reload. In that span of time, build some serious defense (HD, farming, etc) or get a rape train of your own together. Keep an eye on your flag, since…
  • Krell has some epic binds. Love em.
  • On the initializing time, I've noticed that running -nologin takes a long time to initialize, and hosting always takes a while to load up for me. On uncompiled .cs files, I think Classic comes by default in the GameData folder - I don't recall specifically downloading it - with plenty of uncompiled .cs files to work with.
  • Um yes, what integrity problem? I am Shizuka here and am Shizuka in game. In fact, there's a high probability that if you come across "Shizuka Kamishima", that's me. Not really seeing your argument here.
  • "He just ticks me off" is a weak reason to kick. A lot of people tick me off on Goon Haven because I can't seem to kill anyone to save my life, but that's no reason to kick them.
  • The ones I really don't like are where enemy takes the flag, we chase him to Timbuktu, finally take him down, and in the moment we return the flag, it's immediately stolen because there was another flag runner just waiting at our base.
  • My GeForce 8300GS idles at 160F... Tribes apparently really gives it a run for its money. One of maybe two games I have that actually forces the internal fans to run high. Of course, my ventilation royally sucks.
  • The sucking the life out part is right, all right. Sit down for a session then look at the clock a couple rounds later and realize it's 1:30 in the morning...
  • GET THE ENEMY FLAG It gets annoying sometimes when you're playing Capture the Flag and the team doesn't seem to be able to grasp the concept.
  • Should probably sticky that post to avoid these kinds of questions popping up
  • That doesn't mean it isn't still theirs. However, because they released the full client, and this patch does not actually modify their code, it's in the legal white. But just because they stopped supporting it does not mean they relinquished it entirely to the people.
  • I see no images... are there supposed to be images? Check TribalOutpost, they've got a ton of stuff and the icon might be in there.
  • I'm sure there's probably a way I could find out myself, but what is the patch packed with? I've had experience in the past that AVs sometimes flag executables packed with UPX as malicious. Just a half-cent I'll toss in there just in case.
  • Wow, Hitler was your father and your mother? I knew the guy was messed up but... wow... I've heard a few intriguing things about the Houston Vehicles server, but the most I gather is that it was a popular server in T2's prime, and now someone's trying to bring it back. A valiant effort, we'll see how it plays out as the TN…
  • It was mostly that The | Sniper is always puffing his chest out, but when a few people in game called him out, he didn't appear to want, or be able, to back up his claims. It's not anything major, IMVHO.
  • I've had this issue from day one. Only solution I know of is to not Alt-Tab out, ever. In my case, I also automatically set Tribes to be always on top, so no window steals focus from it, as that causes UEs for me as well. If anyone else has had Alt-Tab issues and knows of a fix, we'd like to know.
  • At the View Servers list.. you know, usually it's IE that screws JS up, not Firefox. Is it custom written code from scratch or built on a library of some kind or... Seems odd to me that it would work one way in Opera but different in the others.
  • Actually with how the buttons are set up, index finger on left mouse, thumb on extra buttons, roll one way for gren, other way for mine. Figured it out. If you have a mouse with extra buttons, go to ClientPrefs and set $pref::Input::MouseEnabled = "1"; I think it might correspond to the "DInput Mouse" checkbox on the…
  • Spyware falls under malware, like viruses, but a virus is simply the packaging scheme that could be used to propagate a virus. Viruses copy themselves in order to spread their payload, but I'm pretty sure it still requires some level of user action to spread. Worms actively spread themselves, IIRC. Spyware is usually…
  • Not my decision. Like I said, this is behind a college wifi. If they are deprioritizing UDP, I'm more or less asking if there is a way to know that, or if the random-chance connection issues I have here are caused by something else. There's no issue at home. Maybe I should just give up trying to Tribes it up while at…
  • Ahh okay. Thanks!
  • I'm pretty sure that's it. Looked through all my scripts and none of them appear to add a hit sound like that. How easy would it be to make a script to add on-hit sounds for non-Classic servers? As for the T:V voices, I'll probably look into porting those too.
  • Last few hours actually. 500 Internal Server Error and a 404 on the ErrorDocument Looks like we're back now though. Not slow anymore, too. Nice and snappy. Whatever whoever did to fix it, looks like it worked perfect :) [EDIT] By the way, welcome back Krash, I think we missed you :)
  • Running very slowly for me today. All forum pages take much longer than normal to load.
  • I can confirm this. The most recent UEs I've had that weren't a result of minimizing were because of tanks exploding. Is there a reason this is now happening? Any fix?
  • Did you download the patch from here or from torrent? Invalid Win32 is often caused by a corrupted executable. Try downloading again either from here or from BitTorrent.
  • Don't know that I could put together an experiment with bots, but say you've got something like Broadside (sniper heaven or hell, your mileage will vary) but with the bases far enough apart to be behind fog. If someone deploys a pulse sensor over at their base, then even though all the hostiles are obscured by fog, would…
