I would love this! Can you keep me posted!?
-
No other fighting games, but some baseball and Sim City.
-
But I swear its 50/50 on Goon Haven! Sometimes it works, other times it does not..
-
That link didn't work.

Ugh, I hate when no one runs for the flag. On one map, the score was like 109 to 126. I just kept making flag runs until my team--which had been loosing) took the lead right at the end. Which makes me think flag touches should be worth more.

If it gets bad enough, I'll try and hop on a Shrike (using an enemy's abandoned plane in needed) and head over to their base. If I am lucky, I'll see the next HAVOC getting ready to go and I can shoot it down. This give the home base a couple extra minutes to get back on it's feet.
-
I agree (having worked in government, I can attest to both). But it can be very useful. I know for sure that bombers have shut down activities at an enemy base (or, on the flip side, my base) many times. Just today, there was a good case where a bomber ran through, and I was right behind it. All defenders were cleared out…

I am interested but would need to understand what commitment was expected from me.
-
Define "skills" :-)
-
Uh, I thought it sucked. Maybe it got better later on?
-
I think a lot of the concerns about the usefulness of vehicles directly relates to how few people know how to use them. If you have 15-30 people on a team, taking three aside to bomb can be a huge asset. As far as points, I think pilots and tailgunners should get some (TGs for getting missiles and Pilots for the same…
-
Agreed that they are the most useful, but that's what HAVOCs are for.
-
Great topic! Maybe I don't know what a "serious" means, but I think they are key to all of the teamwork orientated aspects of the game. This is not a good thing. Bombing can be incredibly disruptive for the enemy and helpful for clearing turrets for the capper or rapers. If you send a bomber before a HAVOC brings in 5…

?

I may be the worst!
-
Not a very talented group so far...
-
How many people tend to show up to these?
-
I think it's got a bunch of great things going. Wide open areas to bomb, good base design, reasonable flag placement. The only things I dislike are A) no water and B) those damn midfield bases. Useless.
-
I really love to bomb away the other team. Other than that, I like to go out in scout with spinfusor/plasma/grenade launcher. Those cover all my basic needs. I really hate the shocklance. That fucking thing makes no sense to me.
-
Sounds good! Often I come in as plauetrborn because Tribes won't switch profiles, so keep an eye out!
-
And now I feel like a fool for asking this, but why isn't medium armor sufficient to get a TG? I thend to use Medium because a) if there happens to be no plane ready I can move around easier to use my missiles for defense and, b) some pilots make the bomber a moving target--it's hard to hop on! In heavy, this can really…

Thanks for that. This one I didn't understand: SCORE_PER_ESCORT_ASSIST = 5; Is this for agreeing to escort or for killing an opposing player who is chasing your teammate, or what?
-
link=topic=584.msg5764#msg5764 date=1234301395] Get a decent team, pilot, bombadier, and tailgunner with flares\sensor jammer. Make a good bombing run, die, and then do it all over again.
As a tailgunner, I tend to bring a repair pack to make in-flight fixes as we turn around and head…

I think it does notify that a player gets one point for touching a flag, which I think is a bit low, seeing that the whole TEAM gets a point for it. Seems like grabbing a flag shouldn't be half as valuable as fixing an inventory station, though I guess you gotta encourage people.
-
See, I had gotten all pumped up because while I was playing T1, I was doing really good. Like, king-level at times. I am being humbled every time a new map loads playing T2. But you know what? I love it!
-
I really suck at flying the planes. I'm ok with the fighter, but I can't get the big fella's to move! Where do I get tips?
-
Sounds like love. I better steer clear!
-
Maybe I just got bored of them, having only T1 for the past 3 years!
-
But why not play those in T1? They work far better on T1 than T2.

I've noticed that it's not a good idea for offensive players to get into duels near the other teams base. Even if you win, they can respawn and you're back at zero. Learning how to use your time on offense is nearly as important as deciding o attack or defend. Also, more people need to take on basic tasks, i.e. defending…
