UE everytime i try and playback a recording

  I don't think you can use anything but Tribes 2 to play Tribes 2 recordings. I haven't popped one open myself, but I'm guessing the file only saves the state of the game at certain (though frequent) slices, so without the original engine, it can't play.
  
  I think I had a similar problem in Tribes 1 where my recorded demos would sometimes throw a fit and crash everything instead of loading. Not sure if I fixed it or knew what was going on.

  Tribes 2 recordings are basically maps of every network action that happens in the game, so can't be played in anything else.
  
  As to the UE, you may want to try clearing out any client scripts you're running, remove all DSO files, and try again.
