  • Were the videos removed? I hope this was not a joke.... Yes, I know it was finished quite a while ago, but I was hoping for some cool trailers....

Shane, I don't guess I've ever seen you around. Assuming you weren't around for a while (at least since I came on the scene), what made you wanna come back?
  • Well, they sure love shooting cliffs in the first video.
  • T2 is based on T1, and was supposed to be a free update to T1 but someone in power said hey let's sell another game instead of upgrading an old one. Anyway, the new terrains are what is featured in the first vid, as are some weapons and explosives effects. They used the original T1 skins for some of the dev work, the terrains and explosions and weapons were not in T1. To really compare the versions just look at some T1 and T2 vids. Happymod was rampant in T1 so they decided to make the flags have perma IFFs, and also wrote literal skiing into T2, wich had been more or less an "exploit" in T1. To ski in T1 you hit the jump key over and over, or use a script thyat does it for you. The devs intended players to cover great distances via vehicles rather than walking, but the cowboys found they could go fairly fast by hitting the jump key over and over, wich of course has no need for teamwork. Tribes was billed as squad based combat, not lone cowboy dependant on other lesser players to keep his invos and gens up and flag at home.

I actually have been around since forever! I lurk on the boards cleaning up shit posts and banning shit posters. Used to be SA on GH and all the construct servers.
  • Alrighty. I just hadn't met you yet, I guess. That, or I don't remember you. I joined GH in Nov. 2011.

This is why I preferred T2 Base game play on Vehicles servers. Whole team coordination was essential to avoid an asswhipping, much less win. The glorious sight of a couple of inbound havocs full of jugs with shrike escort really got the blood pumping for a little old farmer like me.

Anymore all we have left is one server full of hotdogs. Sigh.
