  • I have now. So i go to my own server, set up waypoints and it will show me where to aim to hit that exact spot?
  • that's in the "### FANCY ASS SHIT" section. I'm sure it could be a lot more detailed though.
  • i've cleaned up some of the typos and bad formatting :x
  • jesus fucking christ jsut. You sloppy ass.
  • i have the right idea though? go into my own server, make waypoints for every single map by standing on the location and press a button, then go into public server, use spam o matic, and it shows me exactly where to aim to land mortars at X location?
  • you put waypoitns where you want your mortars to land. then you go walk to where you want to shoot from, open up spam-o-matic and click on the target waypoint you created, and create another waypoint where your standing. then you save the waypoints (you can delete the target one if you want).

then if you're on a server that is running that map, you load your waypoints, walk over to the waypoint on the ground and stand on it, and aim your reticle at the waypoint in the sky an shoot.

    boring.
  • Just get a static rangefinder unless you are willing to take the time to set everything up.
  • which static range finder do you recommend

You do know that with proper scripting of this, you could have it place WP's on every player in the server.

    To the rescue!

If you're hosting the server you can do all sorts of stuff like that. If you are a client on a server, you can't. At least not with the stock game.
  • just so you all know, jsut was/is an elite script0r for the top teams of tribes 2... back in the day. There was drama around him at all times.
  • I'd be loads easier to just use your laser range finder and mortar rectiles. Point laser, note range, switch to mortar, adjust elevation, pull trigger. Point and lob. Move to another area, repeat. No fuss, no muss. ...and you can do this anywhere with in range of your target, not just from preset waypoints. It's best to have an escort to help with the range finding and to cover your back while you are out there far from your base. Nothing like walking across the map into enemy base range only to have some sneaky little Shock Lancer stab you in the back.

Don't recall the name of the script, something like lasermortar.
  • The reason for using spam points, aside from the fact that you have a constant point to aim at instead of remembering where the laser was, is that you can aim without LoS.

What you end up doing is mortaring from behind a hill so that the LD have to leave the base to kill you.
