Attention: people using ATI and getting unhandled exceptions in opengl

The reason this happens is that ATI supports 32-bit textures differently than nvidia, and this is something tribes2 doesn't take into account.

IN order to run tribes2 with an ATI card in OpenGL under these circumstances.. run it under d3d mode to get to the options (if you can't already), then switch texture mode to 16 bit and switch to opengl.

It may be ugly but it'll run.

In order to run d3d on t2 you may need an "OpenGL2D3D.dll" in the gamedata dir of tribes2.

  • You might also want to disable any antialiasing in your driver control panel before you start the game for the fisrt time. Ati and t2 have a diffference of opinion on antialiasing.
  • What is an example of a valid error message that points to this issue?

:) Hi, Im using an ATI 512mb card and have no visual issues at all running the game as it installed and I made no changes to any setting ::). The issue I did have was UEs all over the place ;D and found out the Card was not compatibale with Adobe Flash 7, updated to Adobe 8 and no more UEs and game is working fine (shazbot why??).
