"K" key opens code or similar box

When typing a message or if you hit the "k" key while playing the game a dialog code box or similar pops open. Is this an issue or just an annoyance.

    Did you bother to check if K is mapped to anything in your keyboard settings? To my knowledge, K by default calls a dialog box to rearrange the HUD.

    Go to Launch -> Settings -> Controls and look at the bottom of the dialogue. Make sure "Toggle Console" isn't set to K. If it is, then remap it to something that you won't hit as much.
