• If he's hosting a Meltdown2 server, likely in the Meltdown2 mod preferences...
• Structural Infinity is NOT compatible with TribesNext at current...
• Those errors indicate that you have an orphan process of rubyintersect.dll. You can safely terminate that via the Task Manager, under the Processes tab. The auth server is up, last I checked... The error may be related to that orphan process, otherwise ensure that your firewall is set to let T2 freely communicate with the…
• Have you installed the TribesNext patch (found under the downloads section)? And, the console cannot be opened at the login screen.
• That will be his local IP... Unless you're connecting through some funky proxy, or have a very dynamic IP address, TN should properly detect your IP when it's doing its initial queries. You can find your external IP with www.whatismyip.com or www.tribesnext.com/whatismyip.php
• At current, TribesNext only builds a list of server IP:port pairs, and pushes that to the clients when they request the server list. If you're queries are pinging-out, it is probably an issue on your (personal or campus) end.
• There's your problem! :P Joking aside, the main issue with "jumpiness" is proably the affinity. Or, if you run windowed mode, you're using software rendering which is slower (and thus choppier). The only other cause is likely something with the manner in which T2 handles its graphics rendering or some sillyness therein.
• keen, I'm inclined to say this is a bug in your code... I hosted a listen server on my notebook (running base), and switched to several different maps (and gametypes) without issue.
• * (Re)Install the latest version of the patch * Ensure you have the following files:* msvcrt-ruby18.dll * t2dll.dll * rubyintersect.dll * Attempt login If the error persists, drop the attached loginScreens.cs in your GameData/base folder, attempt login, and post the generated LoginAttempts.txt here.
• Yes, wait at least ten minutes to see if it successfully creates an account key...
• If that is coming up at login, try re-downloading your account certificate from the Auth server (The Retrieve Account feature). If it's coming up when attempting to connect to a server, the server may be running a (very) old version of the patch... If it's during account creation, try using a smaller key size (512 or 768…
• Password reset/retrieval is not possible with the manner in which the system is implemented. As it stands, your password never leaves your PC without being first encrypted or hashed...and that is only for account token retrieval from the Auth server. The only reason you enter a password at login is to decrypt your private…
• Alt+Tab is a bug related to Vista, either play in windowed mode or use your laptop for non-T2 viewing...
• I do believe this will be done in a future release.
• Duplicate thread, locked. Please see http://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php?topic=217.0
• Yes, you can play with multiple computers that share the same connection.
• I would imagine it should be...try letting it sit for several minutes, and let us know.
• * Did you install using the tribes2_gsi.exe? * Are you running the latest version of the patch? * Were there any issues during patch installation (i.e. did you have to click "ignore" or "retry")? * Are there any rubyintersect.dll processes listed in the Task Manager? * Are the following files in your GameData folder:*…

It will make what you want substantially easier.
It doesn't hurt to start scoping out the talent now. ;)
…
• Perhaps because the server host decided to add bots, dur. :)
• Of course they can, we just think ours is better. ;) Use a password you can't possibly forget. :P
• Do you have a shared internet connection (Dorm, Apartment w/ roomates, family, etc?)
• Ensure that you've killed any processes (via task manager) by the name of rubyintersect.dll, as they hang around after a crash.
• Defender, rant somewhere else (like your own website). We don't need a flame war here, thanks.
• The latest "official" patch was 25034, also known as the "re-release" Your best bet may be downloading the Tribes2_gsi.exe (from a mirror, or via bittorrent)...as this is the supported option. Otherwise, you may be able to find the Tribes2_reRelease_Update.exe on fileplanet or some other host.
• OK then, looks like this was an easy fix (though I must say, t2base code sucks!). Just download this file (right-click, save as), and drop into your autoexec folder.
• He could, but then the post wouldn't get bumped and everybody would think the problem was solved. Post as much information about your server/the bug as you can (Mod, Bot related settings, Screenshots, any scripts you've included, anything you've modified, etc..) I'll see if I can replicate and fix this issue in the morning.
• There is an auto-updater included in the t2csri.vl2 package. DT will NOT likely be included in the patch. The decision to download/use DT is left to the server hosts and players. At current, I do believe the patch breaks most known cheats.
• The browser/t-mail are something that will come once the current hiccups are ironed out. Chat/IRC is being worked on already, here.
• Those descriptions don't really sound like any bases I've seen in Tribes2, but I could be wrong. Perhaps some screenshots of those maps/bases would help jog peoples memories.
