  • Very cool. Is there any news on the status of the browser coming back? :>
  • If T2 was basketball, guys like Demoncard would be the ones showing up to a game and kicking the ball around, then wondering why it frustrates the people who are trying to play the game to win. He'd find a group of pros and tell them they are only where they are because they're black, that they don't deserve their rings…
  • I just saw this, and I think it's awesome -- really captures the spirit of T2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1u8sQOQH1w
  • I personlly don't enjoy Legacy for whatever reason. I think T2 videos are pretty well covered on cg.org, but here are a couple of my favorites from T1. The first being my favorite tribes movie of all time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHL5_Uq0iVE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KE7FdAioo14 (youtube disabled audio on this…
  • I kinda agree with Red Shifter, but when it comes down to it I highly doubt that the competition community would adopt any changes to classic at this point no matter what - even if z0dd fixed all deadstops and UEs, people are stubborn. That said, I think it's cool that you're working on it and hopefully it will improve…
  • Projectile has said a lot of good things, the best move for you is to get on irc and talk to people there. The competition community is in #lastgasp and uses the forums on twl. The so called mine discing script is built into the game under settings, you simply choose which mine option to bind. I'd also recommend watching…
  • There's some discussion about this on pages 7 and 8 of this thread: http://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php?topic=713.90
  • I was speaking more from a competition standpoint but I have no doubt that the sensor jammer is even more effective on pubs, especially larger ones with lots of people in which a team's defense is mostly dependent on turrets.
  • It most certainly does do something when passive, at least in classic, and what it does is its most useful application. I forget whether or not this was the case in base it's been too long.
  • To be a bit more accurate: Motion sensors will detect cloakers while deployable cameras will detect sensor jammers. The active sensor jammer mode will jam enemy pulse sensors within a short radius and de-cloak enemies. The active SJ does not have many practical applications because of the fast energy drain, but passively…
  • It's worth playing, classic is very similar to T1 but there's in some ways more variety given the extra deployables and vehicles. Skiing doesn't feel quite as crisp that will probably be your complaint, but it is fast paced and fluid and surprisingly well balanced. Classic gives you a feeling completely different from base…
  • When I see people waiting in line to use vehicles to get across maps. When I see people use satchel charges for anything. When I see people dueling with plasma rifles. It's beautiful though in a nostalgic sense, just like when the game was new.
  • Don't out run, dodge, stay on the ground and strafe to the side before you get hit, or if you're in the air: free fall before you get hit. Shrikes can be chained down if you have time. And listen to Kryand about the mine disc - that is something you can do in any armor at any time in any position. The shocklance is a niche…
  • Advice: The Plasma Song Seriously. If you want to learn don't play in newbie servers. Don't play in non-classic servers. Connect to the core tribes community at teamwarfare.com, irc.tribalwar.com #lastgasp, and tribalwar.com. Watch demos. Remember that the game is capture the flag. Learn to ski using as little jets as…
