This better not get in the way of me joining the server when it's empty to randomly run around on maps.
-
Believe it or not, the TWL attitude is incredibly tame compared to what it used to be. There are a few personalities on the forums that can be annoying, but those are easily avoided if you don't post on the forums. As far as team vs. team trash talk goes, there really isn't much. If any new team joins that ladder, it's…
-
Why is that a problem? Is it a bad thing that we are trying to give people high level advice and hopefully make them better players?
-
Seeing 7 lights all standing around next to an inv waiting for the repair-man to repair it... and shooting a mortar in there. Damn DX is awesome.
-
Not like that's any different from any other forum.

Competition has already started. http://www.teamwarfare.com/viewladder.asp?ladder=Tribes+2%3A+7v7+Classic+CTF

Basically he's just a whiny scrub. I was in the server when he threw his temper tantrum an hour or 2 ago, and basically someone was just chaingunning him a lot while he tried to stand still and snipe, and continued to do it every time The Sniper went to the exact same place to stand still and snipe some more. It's possible…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Troll_(angling) I'm more of a trawl.

There are never anywhere near that many people at your base at a time. In fact, a HoF will probably receive more pressure in a 7v7 match than in a 60 player game of Goon Haven.
-
No. Under no circumstance should you defend the flag with a mortar on any remotely decent map. In fact, if a map exists where it actually is an effective idea to defend it by spamming mortars, that would definitely be perfect criteria to label that map as a ridiculous piece of crap. The correct way to defend the flag on DX…

Hey man if it's not fun then you should let people stay terrible. Who cares that the game gets exponentially more fun the better you are at it.
-
5 chainguns. And a shield pack. No wait, 2 shield packs.
-
I just want to know if I should make an actual good map, or a map with gigantic underground bases consisting of every interior in the game, six different capturable bases spread across the 5000x5000m mission area, un-ski-able and half-submerged terrain, and five self-powered V-pads at every base.
-
Since I am a mapper, it's probably better if I am not also a judge.
-
A good idea in theory. However, it could easily be ruined if the judging criteria is totally dumb. Are the judges going to be newbs or non-newbs? Because that will completely change the types of maps that will do well.
-
The only funny thing is that we don't have to play in V2 servers to ruin them. Our mere existence has scared them into destroying themselves.
-
No, the game has never been that way. It requires a custom script.
-
It's not that they know you are using a proxy, it's that they have a gigantic list of IPs of known proxies. Not every proxy is on it, and sometimes some non-proxy IPs get banned as well (though they usually have a system them lets you remove it for yourself).
-
Really you have to wonder what the hell bot server hosts are thinking. They have the resources to host a server, and they choose to intentionally host a server that no one ever plays on.

Fling's ION team is all about fun; I'm sure he'd love to have you aboard. Fling = LIONZ. You can find him on irc.tribalwar.com channel #ions among others.

Codeman.

It's too bad Lonzo doesn't play anymore, and his Jagged Claw demo(s) are nowhere to be found. He'd probably blow your mind with how he uses cloak on that map... in #1 competition matches, even. Other than Lonzo playing Jagged Claw, the cloak pack really shouldn't be mentioned in a thread discussing competition. 9999 times…
