  • NoSounds great, keep playing and learning then! And yeah, the size of the maps, the speed, people flying around, vehicles, deployables, and all of that, is awesome. You're gonna really enjoy spending a lot of time in vehicles, ramming people, gunning, bombing, and supporting gunners/pilots.
  • I will give them a try and tell you if any of those do not work. Thank you for posting the map pack and the screenshots. Sad that the maps from the screenshots aren't in the T2 version, because they do look very good. Well, the plan is to try to bot support some of the maps from the T2 map pack version. If I can do it or…
  • I get an internal server error when I'm trying to post in this thread: https://www.tribesnext.com/forum/discussion/4021/classic-bots-v1-3-69 In addition, I was editing the first post in that thread a bunch of times until my edit had to be approved. Could the number of edits be increased before editing requires admin…
  • Wow, that's great to hear! I'm very happy you gave Tribes 2 a try and ended up enjoying it. This series is great for a reason :) It's even better that you went through extra steps to install bot enhancements, cause like you said, it's worth it if you want to play offline, and it's pretty fun. As for the error, I also get…
  • Would be nice if you'd find a T2 version of the pack!
  • Alright, sounds good. Post the links when and if you find the T2 version. I appreciate it. And yes, this is why these maps should have bot support. Because no one will download clientside stuff just to try out a new server. This will only happen to established servers and after at least a year of familiarity. So the only…
  • That's surprising, you're still alive. Welcome back! Hope you are well. Yes, I'm still interested in having those maps. I'm not sure if I will bot support them anymore due to me being a bit lazy in the last years, but I might. Still, I at least want to wander around them and check them out, and also have them in case you…
  • VGW!
  • I made a pack of tribes 2 stuff here years ago, it contains all the triumph maps as well: The pack is a bit old now and needs some reorganizing, too. I have an updated version of this that I will update in a month or two. But get it if you want the Triumph maps, they're there.
  • Sounds pretty good then. I also forgot to ask, where can I set a signature? Or is that not implemented yet?
  • Well, I wouldn't want to be the guy to transfer all the old data to this new forum software. Must've been a real pain in the ass. I don't really have any complaints about this new forum, now that I think about it. So I suppose it's a success if you ask me. Maybe, at some point, I'd like a counter showing how many times…
  • It looks pretty modern, nice! And the logo's pretty cool. I personally liked the old forum as well.
  • It's been dead for many years, but other servers have taken its place since then. And people do play every day. There are servers with bots (that will kick your ass) as well. Just look in the servers section on this site.
  • I am not sure if this is what you are looking for since I don't remember if it adds weapons or makes the bomber a single seat vehicle, but might that mod be Version 2? I remember it being a faster Tribes 2 with other small modifications.
  • May 18, 2020 - Update v1.3.69 To update, as always, you have to delete your current ClassicBots folder and replace it with the new one. That does mean that you will have to reconfigure your server preferences, too. Don't forget to keep a copy of your MapRecords.cs file from the "prefs" folder so that you don't lose the map…
  • It worked. You saved me a lot of time with your post, so I really want to thank you for that. Thanks to this, I made a small update on the bot mod I'm still working on, fixing this issue.
  • Wow, thanks! This is perfect, exactly the information I needed. I will also do the GameConnection onDrop to AIConnection::onAIDrop thing while I'm at it. That's something I didn't know about. I will try making these changes and post again if it worked or not.
  • Hey, the discord server is not owned by this site/forum's owner. It's made by other people. So your ban doesn't come from the TribesNext community.
  • I gave your mod a try right now, wish there were some players or bots to play with though. My favorite guns from it are the Gemini Guns and the Flak Gun. Still couldn't figure how the sword works.
  • Hey there, it's certainly possible. I see people playing daily but it depends on the hour. Usually there's a server that fills up with about 15-20 players every day. And there are a couple of other people playing on bot servers. If you want to play with more people recommend this to your friends or anyone on discord…
  • The account server was temporarily down since Nov. 4th 2019, I think: https://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php/topic,4261.0.html
  • It's just how it is, there will probably never be a big influx of players coming in. Maybe the only way to get more players in is by posting about Tribes 2 on other gaming communities or youtube channels, and reel in some people who played it before, letting them know it's still alive. Or maybe others who are curious about…
  • I thought applying Windows XP SP3 compatibility settings to Tribes2.exe worked, but apparently I still had problems with this and needed to launch the game twice. But I finally found a good fix. It involves renaming/deleting 'gameux.dll' from 'C:\Windows\SysWOW64'. Now, you can either do this manually or run the batch…
  • It's a very unique FPS that somehow still has a community two decades later, albeit small. Even lots of people who weren't there to experience Tribes 2 in its launch state (like me) are very fond of it. Enjoy playing KB!
  • Krash, you made me have second thoughts about the drivers. I was using a pretty recent version now (391.35). But, I didn't think about rolling back the drivers. I took a look at the GPU usage like you said, and it seemed quite normal, about 10% to 40% max, but the core clock was being downclocked to 50 mhz even with that…
  • This is the only problem that I'm dealing with. Most likely something on my end, on Windows, as you say. If I find a solution I'll post it here.
  • I can confirm that recently I also had to start Tribes 2 twice in order for it to run (windows 7 here), and when it did open it started consuming cpu like crazy. I don't think this has to do with new windows updates, as it happened more than a year ago too but somehow fixed itself. Also, it happened in other games…
  • Arena is not active anymore, but I do remember when I was new to TN playing against you, WonderBear, Perfection, Tarzul, Darkstrand, childrens, Exquisite, and many others. It was a lot of fun and arena was awesome.

  • Indeed, I do too. It's easy to play and forget that there's somebody hosting the t2 online services for free, two decades later after release, with so much going on both online and in the real world. We appreciate that you keep the game alive for those who are left and still want to have a taste of tribes 2.
  • Thanks, rom, glad to see you like it. I want to mention, I did encounter the server auto-restart one time when I was playing there right before a map was switched. But I think that's also the problem. I think the server auto-restarts only when someone joins and before switching the map. If no one can join because of that…
