Yes, you have a GUID...it's part of your account credentials. Of course, you do get a new one per each account...

At current Wine is known to have issues with the Tribes2 in-game TCP objects, which TribesNext makes a relatively heavy use of. From the experimentation I've done on my Gentoo system, the Windows version tends to die in Wine after sending the initial heartbeat to the master listing. Though, ccfreak2 has apparently gotten a…

Honestly, you can't ban by MAC address... You never get the players actual MAC address, you get the MAC address of the last internet router they bounced through to reach you!
-
Due to the decentralized setup of the TribesNext system, globally banning a player account is not possible. The only time you actually communicate with the auth server is during account creation, and account certificate retrieval. Servers never communicate with the auth server.

It's the earthworm! Huzzah, we are saved![me=Turkeh]gets plastered by a moving crate.[/me]

Since the FAQs say yes... YES. However, you can both use the same account to play until you can create your next account.

keep it civil.

at current, you can (manually) nerf the T2CSRI scripts that use any TCP/HTTP objects and that should fix most instabilities... You'll have to use another means of viewing the server list though (i.e. MaxOGC web list) and manually set $IPv4::InetAddress to your external IP (via game console, or script). Otherwise, see The…

If you download via the torrent you're pretty much guaranteed an error free copy... If it still says there's an embedded virus, it's likely a false positive.

Keep it civil, or I stop deleting posts and just lock the thread.

Can't we all just get along?

There are a couple methods to grabbing your GUID* Open your public.store (located in GameData) and copy your GUID from there (it's after your username). * Launch the game and enter And in regards to the "Potential Man in the Middle Attack", see http://www.tribesnext.com/forum/index.php?topic=470.0

You can display your FPS (in a quick 'n dirty fasion) with the console commandshow("$FPS::Real"); That will place a small white box in the upper left corner of your screen, with your FPS. You can disable by issuingshow(); in the console. Another possibility might be CPU Affinity, if you have a multi-core/cpu machine. You…

Simply "disabling" AVG does not help, you'll need to either find and disable the "Link Scanner" feature, or reinstall without that particular feature checked.

I know there was a script (snipehud?) that showed a zoomed view in a frame on your main HUD...

Last I knew, the Tribes 2 executable checked for other instances before running (remember, we had crappy machines back then, so running two game instances would matter!). If you find a way to wrap your game to two monitors, you might possibly be able to hack the GUI to adjust the playGUI to use half the "screen", and the…

Nope, that isn't supported.

Moved to Support. You can find other skin packs on various websites (Google is very useful in this regard, if you know what you're doing). You can select these skins by choosing "Custom Skins" on the warrior pane, vs "Dynamix Skins". And, see the FAQs (here) about your server listing issue.

Yes, Legends uses the Torque Game Engine, as does Ascension (renwerx), and so does Legions...none of which have quite the same feel as Tribes 2.

I'd recommend x-chat if you want to join the IRC channel and idle. :) If you simply want to join and chat for short periods, you could try some web-based solutions like www.mibbit.com or one of the options on www.arloria.net
-
Newer versions of the Torque engines have new shiney features, yes...but they also have a lot of cruft and would require adaptation to meet the needs of Tribes. Not to mention any legal concerns that would come about if the "new" game were to be called Tribes in any manner.

Could you be any more vague? Which installer? What OS? (I'm guessing Vista, based on SP1)
