LOL the #1 position of a dead duel ladder. Three of those players are below average Arena players who were literally unknown until every good player stopped playing. Don't even get me started on CTF - I don't think any of them have ever played it at a remotely high or even medium level. Stop saying it's not personal. You…

T:V was the one on the Unreal engine.

I use a Logitech MX 518.

Steam sounds like a good idea, but I'm sure Sierra would do their best to make it more trouble than it's worth.

A tournament of some sort might attract a few more old school players who haven't made up their minds yet. As I recall, someone was planning one of those. What happened?
-
Careful, you're not not allowed to hurt anyone's feelings. They run a nice kindergarten here, and we should respect that.

We actually had a decent discussion about the ladder with the T2 TWL admin yesterday. There aren't enough people willing to play to run a 10man ladder. 7v7 is definitely not the best way to go, but we really don't have other options unless people start getting their acts together and playing T2 the way it is supposed to be…

There's a glitch that lets you shoot through force fields, but I'm not sure if I have heard of shooting through a wall before. It's possible I heard about a glitch like that many years ago, but I definitely can't remember anything about it now other than possible deja vu.

Well, when you put it like that, I guess it's different. My post was mostly in regard to team-based advice in a 50 player game of Goon Haven. If you plan on defending the gens solo and not worrying about anything else, then Thaen's advice is probably the best thing you can do. It definitely doesn't take 3 mortars to kill a…

It's not game-breaking for the most part, it's just really annoying. If you're like me and you play in SJ all the time, it kinda defeats the purpose when someone is using perma-IFFs and effectively negates your SJ pack. I mean, it's kinda fun to repeatedly kill him every time he seeks you out and tries to act tough, but…

Defense would have to be really good to stop a HO train. And I don't mean "put a lot of players on defense". I mean that everyone you do have on defense needs to be really good at it. If they aren't good at it, then they would be much better off attacking the enemy base and trying to kill the heavies as they suit or trying…

People do use HM2 on Goon Haven - I'd bet at every moment the server has players, at least one of them is a HM2 user. The last time I played there (a few days ago), it was in the morning with about 40 people, and I counted 3 of them unquestionably using HM2. 3/40 is definitely not as much of a problem as whiners/bad…

I have a somewhat off-topic question that one of the last few posts made me wonder about... does anyone here actually give The Sniper any credibility at all?
-
It's a simple fact of life that the better you are at something, the more fun you can have doing it.

Even in Base, some of the information in the manual is completely wrong. This is something that most players learn within days of playing the game for the first time. The Tribes 2 manual is definitely not the place to look for technical information regarding anything in Tribes 2 gameplay. Red Shifter wrote up an accurate…

Correcting this would be very counter-productive to my Goon Haven fun factor, so I'll just make this ambiguous statement.

const char* CFG_LOG_FILE = "hm2.log";

People like to say that there are Dynamix guys at GG, but it's pretty much false at this point. There used to be, but not so much anymore. People also like to say that Legions was made by former Dynamix people, which was never true. For a large part of Legions' development, only one person was working on it, and he wasn't…

If they didn't, we'd have heard about it by now.

Umm... sensor jammer pack?

Well I wouldn't expect you to know or even understand this, but determining the overall talent/skill level of a player is a crucial part of determining whether or not they are using cheats. Based on what I have seen of this guy over a long period of time, he's a bad player. Being a bad player makes it incredibly unlikely…

Honestly I prefer that the server stay dead unless needed for a match/scrim/practice. That makes it much easier to commandeer at a whim.
-
tmann seems like a newb to me; I highly doubt he has any idea what the CC is. Cheats are much more likely.
-
Use one mod to generate players for another is a tactic that rarely works.

You misunderstood me. Just wait for Snowcone to appear in the Branzone rotation.

Rimehold would make a great CTF map. *cough*

And Recalescence. Trust me.

I find it humorous that you use "vet" and "borshield" in the same sentence.
